Chapter1.
Downloading the necessary files to the
Computer.
To install and use all the features
and the posibilities of the Memento Firmware you will need
to download the following softwares:
MEMENTO
FIRMWARE
Download
the latest firmware from our website, in the related DOWNLOAD
section.
After
the download is completed, decompress it to a folder of
your choice.
MEMENTO
DISK
Download
the latest firmware from our website, in the related DOWNLOAD
section.
After
the download is completed, decompress it to a folder of
your choice.
MEMOR32
USB DRIVERS.
These
drivers are available to download from the www.memor32.com
website, alternatively you can follow these
instructions:
For
WINDOWS XP:
Download
the Windows XP driver installer from FTDI
Website, or click HERE.
Save
it to your PC and decompress it into a folder. It can be
the same folder where you previously uncompressed the
Memento Firmware.
For
WINDOWS VISTA:
Download
the certified Windows VISTA drivers from FTDI
Website, or click HERE.
Save
it to your PC and decompress it into a folder. It can
be the same folder where you previously uncompressed
the Memento Firmware.
IMGBURN
SOFTWARE.
You
can actually use any software that will allow you to burn
ISO images of the games to your DVD-R. Softwares
like NERO or ALCOHOL ar perfectly suitable for this work.
If
you do not have already a software to burn ISO images to
DVD-R, we recommend you to use IMGBURN,
a free and reliable software.
Go
to www.imgburn.com,
Click on the DOWNLOAD link to access the DOWNLOAD page and
choose a mirror to download the program.

Save
the file in the same folder you saved the previously ones
WinHIIP
SOFTWARE.
This
is a very nice utility to Format an HDD or a USB HDD
in a "PS2 Format" and to copy directly over
it the ISO of your PS2 games.
Unfortunately
the program does not have an Homepage, you can search
for a copy of it on the Web or you can get it directly
from the DOWNLOAD
section of our website.
- Chapter2.
Installing Drivers for WINDOWS XP.
Installing
the MEMOR32 drivers on Windows XPis a very easy process.
Go to the folder where you previously uncompressed the
executable file of the FTDI Windows XP drivers and double
click on it to start the installation process:

When
you double click it a security warning window may
popup, accept it by pressing the RUN button. A
small DOS BOX window will than appear beginning the driver
installation.
When
the process is completed it will prompt you to press ENTER
key to continue:

Now,
if you want, you can connect MEMOR32 to your PC. Now you
will need to use the mini-usb cable. You can’t miss
here. The end with the small conector plugs in the MEMOR32
and the other one to a free USB port on your computer,
just like a digital camera.
Chapter3.
Installing
Drivers for WINDOWS VISTA.
To
correctly install the MEMOR32 drivers in Windows VISTA you
should have already uncompressed into a folder the
"FTDI Certified VISTA drivers" from FTDI
website.
Than
use the
folowing procedure:
Connect
the MEMOR32 memory card to the PC using the mini USB
cable. You will be prompted with a message stating
"Found New Hardware", click
"Locate and Install Driver Software
(Recommended)" to continue with the installation. On
the next dialogue box select "Don't Search
Online".

VISTA
will then search for valid drivers, and after few seconds
of search you will be prompted to insert the disk that
came with the hardware device manufacturer.
Click
"I Don't Have The Disk. Show Me Other Options"
button, and on the next page click "Browse My
Computer For Driver Software"
.

On
the next dialogue box Click "Browse" to select a
search location.
Select
the folder where you uncompressed the FTDI drivers that
you have oppreviously downloaded, and then click
"OK". Because all subfolders of the
selected folder are searched automatically, you can also
simply select the drive where you uncompressed the folder
(such as C), to search the entire drive.
Windows
VISTA might request you to repeat this procedure TWO
times, one for the FTDI drivers and one for the
"COM" port.
Once
the job is completed you should see a windows like this on
your PC:
Chapter4.
Prepare the MEMOR32 Memory Card for installation.
If you just received the MEMOR32
Memory card and never used it before:
If
your Memor32 is NEW than it needs first of all to be
formatted into the PS2.
insert
the recent erased MEMOR32 Memory Card on the MAGIC GATE
port 1 of your Playstation 2 and reset/turn on the
console. Wait until the main screen is displayed and go to
console’s browser pressing "X".
Assuming
that there is no other memory card and/or CD/DVD on the
console, press "X" AGAIN to browse the MEMOR32
contents:

You
will be given the option to format the MEMOR32 Memory Card.
Select YES and press "X" to proceed with
the formatting:

PLEASE
DO NOT REMOVE THE MEMORY CARD AT THIS POINT UNTIL THE
FORMAT PROCESS HAS BEEN COMPLEED.
Once
the format process has been completed you can remove the
MEMOR32 from the PS2 and proceed to flash it with the
latest MEMENTO firmware.
If you have already been using
the Memor32 Memory card:
Simply
launch the Memor32 SaveGameManager and back up all the
save games that you have on board of the Memor32 as a pure
precaution.
There
is NO NEED to Erase and Format again the Memor32 UNLESS
you have previously used a very old firmware like v0.9b or
0.9c or lower.
- Chapter5.
Flashing the MEMOR32 with the MEMENTO Firmware.
Connect
the MEMOR32 to the USB port of your PC using the mini USB
Cable.
Go
to the folder where you previously uncompressed the
executable MEMENTO Firmware installation file.
Double click it and an installation window will be shown.

Click
on the UPDATE button to start installing/updating the
MEMENTO firmware on the MEMOR32 memory card.
If
everything is correct you should see a "Programming..."
message in the Memento window while the firmware is being
transferred to the memory card.

The
transfer process can take up to a minute. Once completed
you will see "Programming Succesfull"
message. The MEMENTO firmware was successfully
installed. Press EXIT to quit the program.
Unplug
the MEMOR32 from your computer and insert it on the MAGIC
GATE port 1 of your Playstation 2.
IMPORTANT
NOTE: NEVER
CONNECT THE MEMOR32 MEMORY CARD TO THE USB PORTS ON YOUR
COMPUTER WHILE IT IS STILL CONNECT TO THE PLAYSTATION 2.
